About Antelope Valley Community College

AVC was founded in 1929 as a department of Antelope Valley Joint Union High School in Lancaster. Today AVC has a service area of 1,945 square miles withannual unduplicated headcount of more than 18,000, and employs more than 850 people. Antelope Valley College is fully accredited by the Accreding Commission for Community and Junior Colleges/Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC/WASC). AVC’s reaffirmation of accreditation was Fall 2010. The college is up for it’s next accreditation reaffirmation in Fall 2016
